Personal Trainers

All CHF trainers hold college degrees in health-related disciplines, with certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, National Academy of Sports Medicine and National Strength and Conditioning Association. CHF also offers Medical Exercise Specialists—the only fitness center in the beach cities to do so—who are trained and educated to work with member’s doctors or physical therapists to ensure the highest quality, effective exercise program.

Jason Bautista

As a Medical Exercise Specialist, Jason manages clients with musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions looking to improve or maintain their functional capacities. 

Jason additionally works with clients seeking weight loss, performance enhancement, or those simply making the decision to “choose how they want to live.” He focuses hard on designing training programs that find the perfect balance between fun and challenging.” 

What Jason values most in life is time with his wife and three boys.

A former public relations professional for Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays organization, Jason is a self-proclaimed sports enthusiast, who can often be found honing his skills on the basketball court or in the boxing ring.

Derick Malit

Derick’s training approach focuses on the specific goals of his clients. With his extensive knowledge of functional training, weight loss, sports-specific training, and plyometric training, he can accommodate a diverse clientele. Clients who train with Derick will receive the motivation and knowledge they need to incorporate exercise into their lifestyle so it’s not just a temporary hobby that can be neglected. Derick’s upbeat personality and sense of humor are sure to encourage his clients to stick to and enjoy their fitness routines as part of their overall wellness journey. Derick is a key contributor to our Employee Wellness Program here at BCHD, and regularly energizes us with invigorating circuit training classes.

Combining exercise with a healthy diet and lots of laughter can vastly improve your overall quality of life. The key is just to believe in yourself and be consistent because YOU are the only one who can do it for yourself.

Derick is an athlete at heart, and likes to push himself to the max. Outside of fitness, Derick really enjoys being with his family, making people laugh, and trying all types of foods, so there’s never a dull moment!

Aidan Acuff

Aidan Acuff says tongue-in-cheek that his active lifestyle was sparked by frequent kicking and thrashing in his mother’s womb. Never one to take himself too seriously, he enjoys a good laugh as much as a good workout, and shares his infectious attitude with clients.

Aidan’s resume includes 14 years of natural bodybuilding (including a lightweight state championship), a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Psychology. He enjoys the positive daily synergy that involves helping clients realize self-improvement and health. And because of his passion for fitness, Aidan feels like he’s never worked a day in his life.

Tanya Rutter

As a Personal Trainer, Tanya draws upon her extensive experience in functional training and Mat Pilates to create fitness programs tailored to individual goals and lifestyle. With her Fitness Assistant duties, Tanya helps members optimize their fitness results by encouraging proper form and technique; showing members new exercises; and orientating members on the use of new equipment.

FITNESS PHILOSOPHY

Tanya believes that even if a member has never been active, or is returning to exercise, it’s never too late to reap the many health benefits of regular exercise.

When she isn’t working with members at CHF, she enjoys dance, playing classical and flamenco guitar, as well as supporting human and animal rights.

Brian Fuentes

Brian was born and raised in Southern California. He connected with fitness early in life through school sports, including basketball and volleyball. It wasn’t until college that Brian started visiting the gym to maintain his fitness. He was immediately intrigued with the variety of different exercise classes, which sparked his passion for training and rehabilitating clients and athletes.

FITNESS PHILOSOPHY

“Kaizen”, Japanese for continuous improvement. There is always something we can do to improve our lives, and it extends beyond just physical health.

Stephen Dilag

Stephen was born at Little Company of Mary in Torrance and grew up in the South Bay. His parents enrolled him in Tae Kwon Do at age 5, sparking his passion for physical activity. He practiced Tae Kwon Do until high school, where he was first discovered football. The sport taught him how to work out, use gym equipment and fight through exhausting situations and challenges.

Stephen fell in love with the workouts and camaraderie and decided to pursue a major in Kinesiology at California State University, Long Beach. While studying exercise science, he spent a lot of time at the gym and played ultimate Frisbee and flag football to keep himself active. Stephen uses the knowledge he has accumulated to help others stay motivated and engaged in a lifestyle of physical fitness.

Chris Bentajado

Growing up Chris never thought sports or fitness was for him until he was invited by his parents to do Tae Bo. From there, he fell in love with cardio kickboxing. He later discovered his joy for running and joined the track & field team in high school, but also found yoga and Pilates as excellent cross training modalities. From his personal experience, Chris understands that the act of self-care is a wildfire that begins with a single spark, and that sometimes it takes the help of someone else to get started. Chris is quirky and silly, and his humor and positive energy are contagious! He lives enthusiastically with passion, intention and purpose in order to ignite this same spark with the people he crosses paths with.

Annelise Tripp

Annelise has always been passionate about movement: sports, adventure, or outdoor play. She spends as much of her free time as possible in nature and exploring new places. You’ll find her rock climbing, hiking, skiing, or doing acro yoga with friends by the beach. Annelise enjoys exercising regularly so that she can participate in these hobbies and explore the outdoors with ease for as long as possible!
Annelise’s education and career began in Chemistry and Food Science, which brought her to Manhattan Beach, CA for a position as a Product Developer with Beachbody. In 2015, she decided to become a NASM certified personal trainer, out of personal interest and to expand her impact on the health and wellness of the community. Having had injuries of her own in the past, Annelise focuses on functional training and corrective exercises through a system called Functional Patterns. More recently, she discovered a passion for helping those with specific medical conditions and rehabilitation and is currently studying to become a Medical Exercise Specialist.
Through all of it, she thrives in environments where she can teach, motivate and inspire others to engage in an active, healthy lifestyle in one-on-one and small group settings.

FITNESS PHILOSOPHY

Annelise takes a foundational approach to training, beginning with corrective exercise and ingraining optimum posture based on her clients’ specific needs, conditions, and goals. This way, her sessions create a basis for efficient, pain-free movement in daily activities, sports and hobbies outside the gym. Annelise’s’ goal is to keep her clients motivated and having fun, all while training intentionally to keep moving with ease in all aspects of life! “Live intentionally, not habitually.”
