Thank you for being a Center for Health & Fitness member! Make sure to visit CHF Wednesday, February 8 for Member Appreciation Day. To show our appreciation, we’re providing complimentary post-workout essentials—water and nutrition bars—to help you maximize your workouts. Here are some other simple tips from CHF trainers to help you achieve your fitness goals:

HYDRATE
Staying hydrated regulates body temperature, and may even help reduce post-exercise muscle soreness. Plain water is best for exercise bouts under an hour, but added electrolytes are important for anything longer, or if conditions are particularly warm.

EAT
Replenishing nutrients within 15-30 minutes of exercise promotes faster muscle recovery and stabilizes blood glucose levels. Be sure to combine quality carbohydrates and protein after working out. Not sure what to eat, or stuck for time? The healthy nutrition bars available at CHF’s front desk are the perfect post-workout snack, so pick one up on your way out.

STRETCH
Stretching and foam rolling are most effective at enhancing joint mobility and muscle recovery when the muscles are warm (after at least 5 minutes of exercise), and are an essential part of any program. Just ask one of the members of CHF’s Personal Training Team for great tips on stretching and foam rolling.
